BOUNDARIES and EXPECTATIONS 😤 gotta have ‘em for these exact reasons👏🏾

Keep your sanity and your clients by communicating clear strong boundaries early on in your relationship 🤍

These have got to be some of my top icks when working in this industry - have you ever run into any of these?? Let me know below😂

In all fairness, I think the main issue is not setting clear boundaries IMMEDIATELY when signing on a new client.

So, new Virtual Assistants and Social Media Managers - listen up!!🔊

If you want to avoid these icky situations :

➡️ Set clear office hours off the BAT! Let your clients know when you’ll be off the clock

➡️ Send your invoices early - I’d even recommend sending them BEFORE you begin work so you don’t run into this issue. Also, late fees are a thing for this very reason!! Have it set up in your contract and make sure they are aware! Make sure you get PAID!

➡️ As a social media manager, signing new customers is rarely on YOU at all. Depending on what you had set up, you’re most often in charge of bringing in TRAFFIC, expanding their REACH, building a COMMUNITY. The selling aspect is not on YOU. Let your clients know of this immediately and make sure they understand!

Also, results don’t happen quickly either. Social media strategy is a long-term game. Short time frames don’t work here! Make it clear to your clients how like anything in life - results and success take time. It’s not instant but it’s worth it when it happens! Growth happens exponentially! 📈

As a service-provider, your first instinct may be wanting to spread the word about your services and book a client ASAP.

The thing is - selling doesn’t actually work that way.

Creating content with the intention of helping your audience is actually the KEY to building trust, credibility and ultimately forming a bond that converts to a client!

If you want to attract loyal clients who are EXCITED to work with you and VALUE your expertise - focus your content around ✨providing value and solving problems. ✨

For example :

✨Share your favourite best practices and tips that have helped you grow your online presence that would help your audience

✨Walk your audience through a quick tutorial on how to use your top favourite tools/resources that have helped you

✨Highlight different ways that your audience could save time and limit their stress (by using the services that you can provide)

There are so many ways to sell that will actually help and you can use them all to ultimately grow your business! 🙌🏾🥳

This one’s going to ruffle some feathers 😝🪶

I’m not going to lie to you - refusing to niche your business is refusing to succeed. I SAID IT. 🫢

Service-providers have been flippity floppity on this topic for SO long.

But, as someone who was scared to play the niching game years ago and was able to shift that mindset and take the plunge - let me tell you what happened AFTER I finally did:

✨Clients who I admired and connected to wanted to work with ME because they valued my content and felt like I spoke straight to them

✨No more push back on my pricing because my clients could SEE my value since I was giving specifically THEM what they were asking for

✨I was able to tailor my content waaaay easier and my posts were being spread within the very community that I was wanting to work with!

✨Marketing got easier and selling became second nature. It was about helping the very people I knew most about.

Niching isn’t simple but it’s SO worth it. Why wouldn’t you choose to progress easier AND faster?

I mean: Create the type of content that only you have the ability to share.

For example ⬇️

✨Describe a transformation you personally had within your business and how it was done.

✨Share a mistake you’ve made and what you learned.

✨Talk about an unpopular or unique opinion/stance you have on something.

✨Share a challenge you specifically had to overcome.

✨Explain the process that you take your clients through when they onboard with you and why it’s so different than you’ve ever experienced yourself

🤍Make your content so unapologetically YOUR OWN.🤍

Your uniqueness - your story - your personality is going to be why someone chooses to work with YOU over a competitor. 🙌🏾🥳
