An inspiring and bright guide to living mindfully to have the best use of your days. This week, I welcome the darling – Rose from www.spillthetea.co.ke to share her tips and advice on powerful mindset changes that can transform your daily life.
Time in this world is a resource we all have, however, it’s how we use it that makes a difference.
Time is the common thing thing we all share along with gifts and abilities, yet they all also differ between us.
But, the biggest resource is our minds.
I’m obsessed with growth and it doesn’t happen if it’s not coming from within.
Everything is defined from within.
You are who you think you are, no one can define you, you have to do that for yourself.
People might judge you, try to box you but they can’t define you.
Part of growth is being present in moments and having that full experience.
Another thing is taking charge of your life which starts with your day.
Now, most people believe everything has been decided for them because it’s easier.
I’ll tell you why – there is no accountability, and that’s easy.
You fail, you say that was how it was planned. All this has a common denominator, your brain that controls your attitude.
Apart from healthy morning routines, be mindful of your thoughts.
How do you do that? I won’t keep you waiting, let’s get right into it;
GIVE IT YOUR BEST EVERYDAY
It starts with the little things; do you make your breakfast the best way you can?
Wake up and decide for yourself, today I will give it my best no matter what.
Each step I’ll take; I’ll take it the best way I can. Every greeting I give; I’ll give it the best way I can.
What cripples us is just doing things for the sake of doing things.
Recently I was talking to my cousin about my cooking. I had made an observation, when I give it my best, the foods taste wonderful rather than when I just make dinner just for the sake of it.
It all goes down to making that decision of giving it your best.
Do it, like you won’t do it again. Dedicate yourself to putting your best foot forward, always.
RIPPLE EFFECT
Once you decide to give it your best shot, now give some thought into what you do.
Imagine a world where everyone not only did their best, but they put thought into why the took every action.
Every action has a ripple effect. Your actions affect and cause reactions from those around you.
We are here to leave the world a better place. How are you doing that?
Can you take accountability for the things you do?
It’s easier to just do things without thinking of others and the affected they cause.
But, that’s not how we should live. We should all aspire to inspire the best out of people.
Be the mirror your family and friends need. Be the mirror for yourself. After all, you are that mirror, whether you like it or not.
Act like others don’t matter, they will eventually start feeling that way.
So, every action you take – think about the ripple effect that it will set off. Let’s build a better society.
TODAY COULD CHANGE YOUR FUTURE
People think, you only have to plan to do things that will change your future while, I believe it doesn’t work that way. I believe that the daily activities and actions that you take have the power to change your future.
Every day as you embark on your daily tasks, remember your life could change forever.
Ask yourself, in which direction do you want your life to go today? The answer is determined by what you do today. You get to decide that.
Every habit we engage in, has results, either we see them today or five years from now, just know the consequences are there.
You eat unhealthy today, make a habit out of it, it will have consequences.
It could determine your tomorrow or your future health.
There is no sure way of knowing what the results will be but you can have something to do with that by engaging in things that build you.
Avoid all the self- sabotaging and make it a point to focus on what builds you today, or tomorrow.
There are ripple effects within yourself. For instance, negative thoughts lead to self- sabotaging. Decide how you want today to affect or change your future.
Final Thought
Many times, we ignore the little things.
We assume they won’t affect us much.
We lie to ourselves that we can change whatever it is we want to change all at once. It’s the little efforts, the ones we ignore that matter.
I once listened to this podcast that said, even 15 minutes could change your life – you decide how. And I’ve never felt that horrible for taking time for granted.
It’s all we have, how we spend it is up to you and me.
How you do that, depends on your daily attitudes.
